Golf tournament to help firefighters battling cancer

The International Firefighter Cancer Foundation is sponsoring a “Great Balls of Fire” golf tournament Oct. 17 at Bunker Hill Golf Club, 220 Bunker Hill Rd., Princeton. The shotgun start is 1 p.m.

Golfers and members of the community from New Jersey will be joining forces to extinguish firefighter cancer around the world. Proceeds of the event will assist New Jersey firefighters battling cancer.

With the support of U.S. and international research partners, the International Firefighter Cancer Foundation assists firefighters and their family members by providing educational programs, resources and research that have been driving positive changes in the health and safety of the emergency responder community.

The fee is $125 and includes golf, a cart, lunch, dinner and beverages. Sponsorships are available. For more information on the outing, call Lynn Shapiro at 732-673-1796. For more information on resources available, call 866-411-3323 or visit www.ffcancer.org.
