Pumpkin carving, lighting ceremony set for Oct. 29

The Dayton Village Citizen’s Coalition will hold its fifth annual Pumpkin Lighting Celebration on Oct. 29 at the historic Wetherhill House, 269 Georges Rd., Dayton.

At 3 p.m., children and adults will begin carving pumpkins. Tools to carve and designs will be provided, as well as assistance by expert carvers. Parent supervision of children under 12 is required.

At 5:30 p.m., the carved pumpkins will be set up for display along Georges Road. Light refreshments will be available.

The pumpkin lighting starts at 6:30 p.m. After 7:30 p.m., attendees may pick up their pumpkin to take home. There will be some carved pumpkins available for sale at the end of the lighting event.

Bring a snack to share and a nonperishable food item for the South Brunswick Food Pantry.
