The Women’s Council of Realtors Middlesex County partnered a “BRAS for a Cause” a fund raising event with the American Cancer Society on Sept. 23. Held at The Portuguese Club in South River and catered by Ria Mar, this event raised approximately $19,000.00 for the cause.
Women’s Council of Realtors Middlesex County was proud to partner with the American Cancer Society. Together we helped in a small way to make a difference for our families and friends who are affected by this terrible disease.” said Ana Monroy 2016 Local Network President. Patty Tapia, ACS Director of Special Events added “Cancer affects and touches the lives of everyone. Each week in Middlesex County alone, a staggering 75 people are diagnosed with cancer and 26 people lose their battle. These funds not only support but improve the quality of life for patients during treatment and recovery. For Example $50 will provide one wig for one patient.”

Local sponsors, both individuals and companies, decorated 23 bras in various themes modeled during a live Auction by enthusiastic volunteer male models. Themes ranged from representing their business to holidays, hobbies, jokes, special tributes; imaginations ran wide and deep from elegant to bizarre and everything in between. The highlight of the auction was the Clowning Around for a Cure Bra, raising $2000.
Many local real estate offices participated by sponsoring, creating and bidding on Bra’s Including Weichert Realtors- East Brunswick, Coldwell Banker – Metuchen, Century 21 Charles Smith- Edison, ReMax Dreams- Sayerville, ReMax Diamond- Edison & South Brunswick, Davis Realtors – East Brunswick, ERA Central Levinson- Monroe , Golden Key Realty- Pisctaway, Re Max Platinum – North Brunswick, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services- Monmouth Junction, Keller Williams Elite,Realtors- Metuchen as well as many other community services and individuals. This is truly a county wide one-of-a-kind event.
