Pilgrim Baptist Church of Red Bank, 172 Shrewsbury Ave., in conjunction with the Lott Carey International Missions Convention, is sponsoring a “Cleaning Supplies Drive” to assist families recovering from floods in southern states.
Items needed are bleach, antibacterial soap, baby wipes, hand wipes, trash bags, disinfectant and plastic gloves. Additional items needed are non-perishable foods, toothpaste, soap, children’s underwear and socks. All items must be new and unopened.
The collection period is Oct.12 through Oct. 30. Items will be shipped out on Nov. 4 through the coordination of Pilgrim, Lott Cary and local Houses of Worship in the affected areas. Items can be dropped off at the Pilgrim Baptist Church, from 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Pilgrim is also collecting monetary donations to assist in the recovery effort in the southwestern portion of the nation of Haiti. The assistance effort is being coordinated by the Lott Carey International Mission, and financial support will be utilized for distribution of food, water, cholera tablets, mosquito nets and hygiene supplies for displaced families in the area of Port Au Prince and Cape Haitian, Haiti.
