PLUMSTED – The New Egypt Fall Festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 22 on North Main Street in downtown New Egypt.

The popular autumn event is held rain or shine and will feature vendors, food, organizations, music, children’s activities and fun for the whole family, according to a press release.

The event will mark its third annual pie baking contest. Judging for the contest will take place at 2 p.m. All pie bakers are asked to bring their pies to the New Egypt Welcome Center on Main Street between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. First prize is bragging rights and a prize package, according to the press release.

The Plumsted Business Merchants Association is sponsoring this event and after the pies have been judged, the remaining slices will be sold to help the association feed the hungry in the community during its annual food basket drive.

“Fall is a great time of year and our annual Fall Festival is a great way for the community to come together and enjoy the autumn weather, great food, entertainment and to meet up with their neighbors,” Mayor Jack Trotta said.
