The Old Bridge Police Department will host an Operation Take Back New Jersey local collection site medicine-disposal day 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 22 in the Richard Cooper Recreation Center lobby at the Old Bridge municipal complex, Route 516 and Cottrell Road.
The initiative, open to all residents, was organized to encourage local community residents to properly dispose of their unused, unwanted and expired medicine.
The statewide effort, with the majority of New Jersey police departments participating, is spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) New Jersey Division, the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General, the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police, the New York/New Jersey High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (NY/NJ HIDTA) and the New Jersey National Guard.
