Knee-replacement presentation set for Nov. 16 at mall

Monmouth Medical Center will present, “Mako Robot — Total Knee Replacement … Don’t Let Life Bring You to Your Knees,” from 1-2 p.m. on Nov. 16 in the SCAN classroom on the lower level of the Monmouth Mall, Route 35, Eatontown.

Technology is constantly changing and improving the level of care provided to patients. The advancement of Stryker’s Mako robotic arm-assisted surgery is transforming orthopedics. The robotic arm is already being used as a platform for total hip replacement and partial new replacement and will soon be used for total knee-replacement surgery.

Join Nicole Wilps RN, BSN, assistant clinical director and program coordinator of the Joint and Spine Department at Monmouth Medical Center, and Tim Lunn, orthopedic sales at Stryker, to learn about total knee-replacement surgery as well as discuss why the quality of the operator of the robotic arm is a very critical component of the surgeries.

This is a free program. Registration is required by calling 732-542-1326.
