Planned Parenthood has transformed women’s health

This month, Planned Parenthood is 100 years strong. Planned Parenthood was founded by Margaret Sanger in a Brooklyn brownstone, when the two most common causes of death for women of childbearing age were tuberculosis and childbirth.

For the past century, Planned Parenthood has transformed women’s health and empowered millions of people worldwide to make informed health decisions, forever changing the way they live, love, learn and work.

Planned Parenthood was founded on the revolutionary idea that women should have the care they need to live strong, healthy lives and the information they need to plan their families and their futures.

As Planned Parenthood enters its second century, people continue to show up at their health centers every day where they find expert and compassionate care from the staff, clinicians and doctors.
