MIDDLETOWN — T&M Associates, a leading national consulting, environmental, engineering and construction management company, was presented with a New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA) Award for Excellence for Community Service to honor their “50 Ways of Giving” community service campaign.
T&M received the award at a reception at the Pines Manor in Edison on Oct. 19.
To mark its 50th anniversary in 2016, T&M initiated the “50 Ways of Giving” campaign, in which employees throughout its 19 office locations participate in acts of volunteerism to give back to their partner communities through hands-on activities that enrich peoples’ lives and help those in need.
The annual NJBIA Awards for Excellence program recognizes New Jersey companies whose energy and vision result in exceptional achievements in several categories: environmental quality, business success, outstanding employer and public service. The community service award distinguishes organizations for outstanding service in the public interest.
“For over 100 years the NJBIA has helped develop a prosperous New Jersey, and since T&M’s founding 50 years ago, this has been our goal, as well,” said Gary Dahms, T&M’s president and CEO. “Our ‘50 Ways of Giving’ campaign has provided us with an important vehicle to celebrate our 50th anniversary and live our mission of improving quality of life and creating sustainable value for our employees, clients and community partners.”
To date, more than 200 T&M volunteers have participated in 64 community service events, logging more than 1,300 hours to support a broad array of causes and nonprofit organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers Big Sisters, United Way, American Red Cross, Clean Ocean Action and Project Lead the Way.
T&M’s “50 Ways of Giving” campaign also recognizes the company’s half-century relationship with seven original New Jersey clients— Middletown, Sea Bright, Oceanport, Monmouth Beach, Long Branch, Holmdel and Eatontown. In honor of those longstanding partnerships, T&M has awarded a total of $16,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from each of these communities who have committed to pursuing a degree in engineering or environmental science at an accredited college or university.
