PBA recognition reception set for Nov. 10

FREEHOLD – The Freehold Borough Police Benevolent Association’s sixth annual PBA Recognition Reception will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the American Hotel.

This year’s event will pay tribute to and honor the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States, according to a press release.

This year’s honorees include:

• Lynn Reich, who has worked tirelessly to fund teachers and classrooms by creating the Freehold Borough Educational Foundation.

• Tom Hartman, who has been a first responder with the Freehold First Aid and Emergency Squad for 53 years and is a retired police officer with 30 years of service.

• Officers Angel Padilla and Peter Hammer from the Linden Police Department. The officers, who will be in attendance, will be recognized for their actions in apprehending Ahmad Khan Rahami, who is suspected of recent bombings in New Jersey and New York.

Tickets are $75 per person and include cocktails and a buffet.

The Freehold Borough PBA is a nonprofit organization that organizes and participates in community events, donates to local organizations and supports other benevolent causes, according to the press release.
