• “American Idol” Season Eight winner Kris Allen will perform his new Christmas album at Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township, (outside near Cheesecake Factory), from 5-6 p.m. Nov. 13. Free performance.
• Terry Antoniewicz, a noted handwriting analyst and historian, will present a program about signature analysis at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, Manalapan, at 2 p.m. Nov. 15. • The Horsemen’s Association of Millstone Township will meet on Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. at the Millstone Community Center, Stagecoach Road (next to the firehouse). • The Ladies of St. Joseph, Millstone Township, will sponsor a bus trip to Lancaster, Pa., for Sight & Sound Theatres’ presentation of “Samson” on Dec. 6. • Gwenne Baile, an environmental commissioner in Haddon Township and chair of the Haddon Township Backyard Chicken Advisory Board and of Camden County Chickens, will be the featured speaker at the Nov. 10 meeting of the Allentown Garden Club. Baile was instrumental in changing her town’s laws to allow a successful pilot project which continues today, and she will share her experiences and information for home gardeners who would like to raise hens. The speaker will be Richard Haberstroh, a founding member of the New York-based German Genealogy Group. The meeting is free and the public is welcome.

• The Monmouth County Park System will host Ask a Naturalist at 10 a.m. Nov. 29 at Turkey Swamp Park, Georgia Road, Freehold Township. Meet at the shelter building. Hit the trail with a naturalist and bring along questions. Free. Details: 732-842-4000.

• Monmouth County Audubon Society will tour a banding station on Sandy Hook in northern Monmouth County to learn about the process. The group will meet at 8 a.m. Nov. 12 on Sandy Hook near M lot, the most northerly parking lot.
