Freehold Township will mark Veterans Day

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – A Veterans Day observance will be held at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Freehold Township municipal complex, corner of Schanck and Stillwells Corner roads.

All members of the community are invited to attend the ceremony.

Township Committeeman David Salkin said the guest speaker will be Ray Tweten, a Vietnam War veteran and retired member of the United States Marine Corps.

Tweten is the recipient of the Silver Star and three Purple Heart medals. He previously served as the senior commandant of the Cpl. Philip A. Reynolds Detachment of the Marine Corps League, Freehold.

Veterans from the Marine Corps League will present the colors in honor of veterans of all branches of the service. The ceremony will be hosted by Salkin and members of the Township Committee will be in attendance.
