NORTH BRUNSWICK – Two new officers have joined the ranks of the North Brunswick Police Department.
Matthew Workman and Zachary Tevoli were administered the oath of office during the Township Council meeting on Oct. 17.
Both officers are residents of North Brunswick, are alumni of North Brunswick Township High School and graduated from the Mercer County Police Academy on Oct. 7.
Workman previously worked as a security specialist for Accurate Event Group/ U.S. Tennis Association. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Rutgers University. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Criminal Justice from The City of New York’s John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Tevoli previously worked as a loss prevention detective at Bloomingdales. He recently graduated from New Jersey City University with a Bachelor of Science degree in National Security Studies and also earned an associate’s degree in Criminal Justice from Middlesex County College.
According to Police Director Kenneth McCormick, the hiring of Workman and Tevoli was in response to replacing retiring officers.
“The mayor and council are aware of the needs of our community in terms of public safety, an increasing population and greater demands in services,” he said.
