The victim reportedly left his motorcycle unattended outside his residence for several minutes, according to a statement prepared by South River Police Chief Mark Tinitigan, and upon returning outside noticed it was missing.

Detectives were able to obtain surveillance footage from numerous locations throughout Middlesex and Monmouth counties, police said.

With assistance from the Marlboro Police Department, members of the Detective Bureau were able to identify Dennis Akstulewicz, 36, of Old Bridge, and Richard Brown, 41, of Sayreville, as the suspects allegedly responsible for the theft.

Akstulewicz and Brown were charged with theft of the motorcycle and conspiracy to commit theft. Subsequently, both were lodged at the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick in lieu of $20,000 bail.

Additionally, with assistance from the Jackson Township Police Department, the stolen motorcycle was recovered and returned to the owner, Tinitigan said.
