EAST BRUNSWICK – Business is booming in the township, with a series of new stores planned to open through next year.

In the Midstate Mall, located at 300 Route 18, a DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) will be moving into the old Staples building and a Raymour & Flanigan furniture store will be moving into the old Sports Authority location, joining the recently-opened mediterranean restaurant Ibby’s Mediterranean Fresh, according to East Brunswick’s Director of Planning and Engineering Gregory Potkulski.

A Moe’s Southwest Grill will be coming to Route 18 at West Prospect Street.

A Verizon Wireless store will be moving into the old Joyce Leslie on Tices Lane.

HomeGoods will be coming to Summerhill Square, next to Toys R Us. Burlington Coat Factory will be moving into the old Pathmark building, located on Racetrack Road. In front of the Burlington will be three new pad sites which will include Supercuts Hair Salon, Starbucks and Five Guys Burgers and Fries, according to Potkulski.

Bar Louie, a casual dining bar and restaurant, is expected to open in December at the Brunswick Square Mall, located at 755 Route 18. In front of the mall, M&M Bake Shop recently opened.

Arooga’s, a grille house and sports bar, will be coming to Hillsdale Road.

Park Chateau, located at 678 Cranbury Rd., is currently undergoing major renovations, according to Potkulski.

“The Route 18 activity this year has been tremendous. This, combined with the redevelopment efforts along the northern Route 18 corridor, makes it extremely exciting for East Brunswick moving forward,” Potkulski said.
