ENGLISHTOWN – Voters have elected Republicans Greg Wojyn, Dan Marter and Eric Mann to seats on the Englishtown Borough Council.
Wojyn and Marter ran unopposed for three-year seats on the governing body. According to results posted online by the Monmouth County Clerk’s Office, they were elected with 559 and 577 votes, respectively.
Mann defeated Democrat Steven Bloom in a race for a one-year term. Mann received 482 votes and Bloom received 279 votes, according to the county clerk’s office.
The results of the Nov. 8 election are unofficial until they are certified by the county.
Wojyn and Mann are currently serving on the council.
Wojyn has lived in Englishtown for 16 years. He said that during the next three years, his goals will be “to ensure our tax dollars are saved in any way possible; to get final clearance from the state to launch the municipal parking lot; to seek county and state assistance to improve Main Street for local businesses; to relaunch the borough’s website that will better serve the community; and to launch a citizen-focused program to get residents to attend council meetings.”
Marter has lived in the Englishtown-Manalapan area his entire life and will begin serving his first term on the council in January. He said he believes he will be able “to provide a new energy and some fresh ideas to help the town improve, while preserving its rich history.”
Mann has lived in Englishtown for three years. He said he hopes to continue to use his training and experience in accounting and finance “to assist in guiding Englishtown in an efficient and cost-effective manner.”
