CRANBURY: Incumbents Dan Mulligan, Glenn Johnson re-elected to Township Committee

Republican Dan Mulligan and Democrat Glenn Johnson were re-elected to the Cranbury Township Committee. Both Mr. Mulligan and Mr. Johnson will serve another three-year term in office.
Mr. Mulligan currently serves as mayor, while Mr. Johnson serves as deputy mayor.
Mr. Mulligan received a total of 965 votes – 285 from Cranbury, District 1; 407 from Cranbury, District 2; and 273 from Cranbury, District 3.
Mr. Johnson received a total of 942 votes – 313 from Cranbury, District 1; 334 from Cranbury, District 2; and 295 from Cranbury, District 3.
Republican competitor Fran McGovern received a total of 786 votes – 252 from Cranbury, District 1; 327 from Cranbury, District 2; and 217 from Cranbury, District 3.
“I would like to thank my fellow friends and neighbors of Cranbury for allowing me the honor to continue to serve our community for another three years as a member of the Township Committee,” Mr. Mulligan stated of his election win. “I look forward to continue to protect, preserve and plan for Cranbury’s future together.”
As for Mr. Johnson – and his no-nonsense approach – the incumbent touched on what will be his top priority while in office over the next three years.
“This year, the Township Committee filed an affordable housing plan that was accepted by the courts. We project that it will cost Cranbury $9 million to fulfill our affordable housing obligation,” Mr. Johnson said. “We need additional revenue sources to ease this burden on our residents. I will be pushing for developing projects that produce good retables for Cranbury and do not put pressure on our school.
“New warehouses east of Route 130, development in our retail zones along Route 130, and the High Point development at the intersection of S. Main Street and Old Trenton Road will all help pay for our affordable housing costs,” said Mr. Johnson. 
