SOUTH BRUNSWICK – The three Democrat incumbents retained their seats on the South Brunswick Township Council.
Joseph Camarota, Charlie Carley and Josephine Hochman received 11,526, 10,987 and 10,667 votes, respectively.
Camarota is a family entertainment consultant who has served on the council for 12 years.
“It’s a very humbling experience to be acknowledged so decisively amongst one’s peers. It’s a testament to our team’s work and our connection with the residents of South Brunswick. It is with great pride and humility to be able to serve, along with Charlie and Jo, the people of South Brunswick for another four years. It is truly an honor and privilege to do so,” he said.
Carley is a civil engineer who has also served on the council for 12 years.
“I’m always humbled by the support of friends and neighbors in South Brunswick,” Carley added. “More than anything, our job on the Township Council is to help folks work together to build up our community. We’ll continue to support local institutions in their work – our religious institutions, our volunteer fire and first aid squads, our educational community, our sports leagues, veterans groups and many others. I expect to continue in that work – to help strengthen our local institutions so that they can assure that our town is the best it can be.”
Hochman will begin serving her second four-year term.
“I would like to personally congratulate my incumbent opponents in retaining their council seats. As I publicly stated, I appreciate their hard work, sacrifices and diligence in serving the people of South Brunswick,” Wojaczyk said. “I hope that the council puts extra diligence into fiscal discipline, shrinking of unnecessary government and ending the incurring of additional debt. In addition, I would hope that the council does everything in their power to discourage residential over-development, encourage business development and implement policies and programs that enhances law enforcement capabilities, improves security and emergency readiness. In these turbulent times, it is important that we come together for the greater good, no matter who we voted for or what party we are aligned with. That said, I offer myself in any capability where I may serve the council and the people of our township.”
