EDISON – Authorities are investigating the death of an unidentified man who was found on Nov. 13 outside a township apartment complex near a Route 1 bridge that spans the Raritan River.
The man, whose identity is under investigation, was pronounced dead at 9:50 a.m. after he was discovered at the Valley Manor apartment complex at 6:14 a.m., according to a statement prepared by Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Chief Thomas Bryan of the Edison Police Department.
Police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene at that time after being notified of a small fire at the apartment complex, officials said. The remains of the unidentified man were discovered when the fire was extinguished.
