Two men charged with alleged homicide in Oceanport

OCEANPORT – Two men from New York have been charged in the homicide of a missing Connecticut man who was found buried in Oceanport.

On Nov. 15, Connecticut law enforcement contacted the New York City Police Department (NYPD) regarding a missing 26-year-old male who resided in Stamford, Connecticut, according to a statement prepared by the deputy commissioner of public information for the NYPD.

The male was last seen at 418 E. 59th St. in Manhattan in the confines of the 17th Precinct and a preliminary investigation determined that the missing man was last seen entering the building on Nov. 13 at 7:30 a.m. He was described as a white male wearing a blue coat and green shirt, police said.

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, James Rackover, 25, of New York, New York, was charged with 2nd degree murder, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence, the NYPD announced on Nov. 18.

Lawrence Dilione, 28, of Jersey City, was charged with 2nd degree murder, 1st degree hindering prosecution, concealment of a human corpse and tampering with physical evidence. Officials at Red Bank Catholic High School offered “no comment” about Dilione having had attended the high school years ago.
