He has been a board of trustees member of the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation, the Acoustic Musicians Guild and the Musicians Project, according to a press release.

“The Phone Call” will feature music from Rongo’s most recent CD as the backdrop to a conversation with a friend who is trying to come to terms with his spirituality and the concept of oneness, according to the press release.

During “The Phone Call,” Rongo guides his friend and the audience to the understanding that people are all one by explaining some of the many aspects of “oneness,” and through his music that carries the same message, according to the press release.

Rongo has been a bassist and vocalist for four decades. He decided to combine his thoughts about spirituality and oneness into songs in 2007. Rongo has applied his music and message to help causes such as veterans, military troops, cancer patients, children and the planet, according to the press release.
