Six police officers promoted in Freehold Township

FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP – Six police officers in the Freehold Township Police Department have been promoted to new positions.

At the Township Committee’s meeting on Nov. 22, Christopher DeAngelo and Jarrad Kodran were promoted from patrol officer to sergeant; Russell Gelber was promoted from patrol officer to detective sergeant; Daniel Pasquinucci was promoted from sergeant to lieutenant; Scot Hall was promoted from detective sergeant to detective lieutenant; and George Baumann was promoted from lieutenant to captain.

According to information provided by the committee:

• DeAngelo served in the U.S. Navy before becoming a police officer. He is a graduate of Stockton University. He began his law enforcement career in Freehold Township in 2004.

• Kodran has worked in law enforcement for 12 years. Prior to joining the Freehold Township Police Department in 2008, he worked as a park ranger with the Monmouth County Park System and as a corrections officer with the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Department. He will serve as a sergeant in the Patrol Division.

• Gelber joined the Freehold Township Police Department in 1994 and initially served in the Patrol Division. He has served in the Detective Bureau since 2003 as the department’s evidence and Megan’s Law registration officer. He will continue to serve in the Detective Bureau.

• Pasquinucci has worked as a police officer for 19 years. He joined the Freehold Township Police Department in 2000. He was promoted to sergeant in 2006. With his promotion to lieutenant, he will serve in the Patrol Division.

• Hall began his career in law enforcement with the Marlboro Police Department in 1995 and was hired by the Freehold Township Police Department as a full-time police officer in 2000. He has worked in the Patrol Division, the Traffic Unit and the Detective Bureau and will continue to serve in the Detective Bureau. Hall is a certified instructor with the Monmouth County Police Academy.

• Baumann began his law enforcement career in Freehold Township as a full-time police officer in 1986. While employed by Freehold Township, he served as a volunteer on the Freehold Township Youth Guidance Committee for 19 years. Baumann is a certified firearms instructor and teaches motor vehicle stops and defensive driving at the Monmouth County Police Academy. With his promotion, Baumann will be the commander in charge of patrol, administration and the Detective Bureau. Bauman has a son who also works in the police department.
