Specialization, years of experience provide patients with complete care

The practice of medicine in an ever-changing environment is a challenge that the doctors at Highland Park Medical Associates strive to meet on a daily basis. They specialize in infectious diseases and internal medicine. Both specialties go hand in hand to provide patients with complete care.

Comprised of six physicians who have been with Highland Park Medical Associates for an average of 20 years, they are on staff at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, St. Peter’s University Hospital and CentraState Hospital. They are also on staff at various subacute facilities, so they can follow their patients from the hospital stay through their entire recovery period. Members of the practice have been named NJ Monthly Top Docs and have academic appointments at Rutgers Medical School.

The office is equipped with electronic medical records so they can communicate effectively with consultants and other internists. But they believe technology is not a substitute for good, old-fashioned personalized care since getting to know the patients and their families is part of the art of medicine. In addition, as internists, they treat hypertension, diabetes, depression and perform annual checkups. When patients feel sick, their easily accessible staff works to get them seen as soon as possible.

The infectious disease expertise includes treating diseases such as bone and joint infections, HIV, Hepatitis B and C, pneumonia, infections caused by resistant bacteria like MRSA and much more. The infusion suite is on the premises and allows patients to receive their antibiotic treatments under a watchful eye. For those who want to see the world, travel advice and protective vaccines are available.
