Nine township employees were recently given increases to their annual salaries after a review of their work over the last year was found to be worthy of the raises.
During the Dec. 20 Hillsborough Township Committee meeting, officials approved the resolution allowing members of the local American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and Teamsters organizations to receive the raises.
“Each year, based upon the local labor contract, members of the AFSCME union are selected to receive merit increases, and new this year, members of Teamsters Local 469 are also selected,” Mayor Frank DelCore said.
This year’s salary increase recipients are the following employees:

  • Joanne Bertolini, Court Violations Clerk. Earned $33,133 in 2016. Will earn $34,790 in 2017.
  • Kevin Colie, Public Works employee. Earned $53,962 in 2016. Will earn $57,450 in 2017.
  • Danielle Gillecce, Police Services Division Clerk. Earned $33,964 in 2016. Will earn $35,662.
  • Ernesto Gonzalez, Public Works employee. Earned $53,962 in 2016. Will earn $57,450 in 2017.

  • Kyle Trimmer, Public Works employee. Earned $53,962 in 2016. Will earn $57,450 in 2017.

The mayor said these nine employees were selected by the township Compensation Committee, which votes each year on who receives the raises based on recommendations and personnel evaluations.
“These employees are chosen by their department heads and it’s nice to see them recognized for their excellent work,” he said.
According to the approved resolution, the raises will be effective on Jan. 1.
