Four charged with multiple crimes after suspicious vehicle report

EAST BRUNSWICK – Four people were charged as the result of East Brunswick patrol units responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle occupied by multiple individuals.

The caller had reported seeing occupants exit the vehicle and approach several houses on Sullivan Way around 2:09 p.m. on Dec. 21, according to a statement prepared by the East Brunswick Police Department.

Officers located the vehicle, which was reportedly occupied by a female and two males at the time, according to police. Through investigation, it was learned that there was a third male unaccounted for.

Patrol units, along with Detective Bureau personnel, initiated a search of the immediate area for the male and any signs of burglary to residences and found a residence on Sullivan Way had been burglarized, according to the statement.

At this time, a description of the third male had been obtained and broadcasted to units on scene, police said. Detectives reportedly observed a male fitting the description in a taxi in the area and conducted a motor vehicle stop of the taxi on Corona Road.

During the motor vehicle stop and subsequent investigation, it was allegedly confirmed that the male passenger in the taxi was dropped off by the three individuals in the occupied vehicle.

The male, Ryan Carroll, 24, of North Brunswick, was purportedly found in possession of stolen property, specifically numerous pieces of jewelry that were reported stolen by the resident on Sullivan Way, police said.

Further investigation revealed the three occupants of the suspicious vehicle – Shanita Daniels, 23, of New Brunswick, Shawn Pellichero, 31, of North Brunswick, and a 17-year-old male from New Brunswick – were allegedly in possession of suspected stolen jewelry, heroin, burglary tools and $2,681 in cash.

Daniels and Pellichero were charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. Carroll was charged with burglary, possession of stolen property, hindering apprehension and possession of heroin. All three were transported to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center in North Brunswick.

The juvenile, who was charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of heroin, was released to his parents.

The subsequent investigation assisted the Bridgewater Police Department in solving a burglary in their township on the same day, according to police. Additional charges of burglary tools and stolen property are pending against Daniels, Pellichero and the juvenile, police said.
