South Brunswick appoints professionals for the year ahead

SOUTH BRUNSWICK — Few changes from last year were made during the South Brunswick Township Council’s recent reorganization meeting.

Councilman Christopher Kilmurray was once again appointed deputy mayor on Jan. 3 as Joseph Camarota, Charles Carley and Josephine “Jo” Hochman were sworn into their respective terms after being re-elected to the council in November.

As for the appointment of township professionals, Debra Johnson is the judge of the municipal court; Sterling DiSanto & Associates is the alternate township appraiser; Dr. Paula Sjolund is the township physician; Dr. Paul Prodromo is the alternate physician; Anthony M. Campisano is assistant township attorney; Ernest Blair is assistant public defender; Decotiis, Fitzpatrick & Cole is the bond counsel; and Alaimo Associates is the utilities consulting engineer as well as the consulting engineering firm in the event of a conflict of interest.

Other appointments include Phoenix Financial Advisors as the financial advisor; Apruzzese, McDermott, Mastro & Murphy as the labor relations attorney firm; Robert Smith is the municipal prosecutor; Jeremy Solomon, Aravind Aithal and Timothy Arch are alternate prosecutors; Maryann Duffy is the public defender; Borden Periman Salisbury & Kelly will provide property/casualty insurance risk management services; James P. Nolan and Associates will provide special tax counsel services; Sockler Realty Services will handle township appraisals; Wiss & Company is the township auditor; CME Associates is the municipal consulting engineering firm; Bignell Planning Consultants is the planning consultant; and USA Architects will provide architectural services.

For the Planning Board, Mayor Frank Gambatese will serve a one-year term as a Class I member, Barry Nathanson will serve a one-year term as a Class II member, Carley will serve a one-year term as a Class III member and Jerome Lutin will serve a two-year term as an Alternate No. 2 member.

For the Zoning Board of Adjustment, Kevin Bifulco and Bharat Patel were appointed to serve four-year terms as regular members, Armando Lepore was appointed to serve a two-year term as an Alternate No. 2 member and Manny Vitone was appointed to serve a two-year term as an Alternate No. 3 member.
