Jackson residents appointed to boards, committees

JACKSON – Many residents of Jackson will lend their time and effort to perform services for the community following their appointment to municipal boards and commissions in 2017.

The Township Council held its reorganization meeting on Jan. 3. Professionals were hired for various positions and residents were named to municipal bodies.

Council members appointed:

• Jean Cipriani of Gilmore and Monahan as township attorney

• Steve Zabarsky of Citta, Holzapfel and Zabarsky as municipal prosecutor

• Christopher R. Shea of R.C. Shea & Associates as public defender

• Patrick Jeffery of T&M Associates as township engineer

• Ernie Peters of Remington, Vernick & Vena Engineers as township planner

• John Maczuga of JDM Planning Associates as affordable housing planner

• Councilman Ken Bressi to the Planning Board

• Kathryn McIlhinney, Anthony Marano (alternate) and Peter Kitay (alternate) to the Zoning Board of Adjustment

• Geneva Clayton was reappointed to a five-year term on the Jackson Township Municipal Utilities Authority

• Named to the Veterans Committee were John Allen, Bruce Gatarosk, Richard Hyjack, William Palme and Louis J. Tiboldo

• Named to the Economic Advisory Committee were Andy Weinstein and Dr. Miriam T. Furlong. Council members appointed Councilman Robert Nixon (chair) and Councilman Ken Bressi (vice chair) to serve as representatives for the council.

• Named to the Citizens Budget Advisory Committee were Gary Moll, Rob Alfano, Andy Taylor, Catherine Hood and Alex Sauickie.

• Named to the Recreation Advisory Board were Chris Porazzo (Jackson Lacrosse), James Hirsch (Jackson YFC), Tim Calcaterra (Jackson Little League), Andy Weinstein (Jackson Soccer Club), Ty Jones (Jackson Girls Softball), Tony Delvecchio (Holbrook Little League) and Jim Saar (Jackson Memorial Ice Hockey Booster Club).

Alternate Recreation Advisory Board members are Sam Baracos (Jackson Lacrosse), Dean Pinto (Jackson YFC), Al Goldberg (Jackson Little League), Debbie Siragusa (Jackson Soccer Club) and Michael Sokoloff (Jackson Memorial Ice Hockey Booster Club)

• Named to Municipal Alliance on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse were Mayor Michael Reina; Councilman Scott Martin; Police Officer John Pejoski; Police Officer Colin Menafra; Sheri Silversmith; Rev. Dan Schaffer; Jackson Liberty High School Vice Principal Geoff Brignola; Jackson Memorial High School Vice Principal Kyle Brunson; Goetz Middle School Principal Carl Perino; S.A.C., Jackson Liberty High School, Andrea Mangini-Harold; S.A.C., Jackson Memorial High School, Tracy Kearney; S.A.C., Goetz Middle School, Dr. Susan Hunter-Mazzella; S.A.C., McAuliffe Middle School, Jamie Boccia; and Goetz Middle School teacher Allison Holland

Additional Alliance members are Paul Hrebik, guidance counselor, Johnson and Rosenauer schools; Pat DeBenedetto, guidance counselor, Switlik School; Pat Herold, guidance counselor, Crawford-Rodriguez Elementary School; Dara Feibelman, guidance counselor, Elms Elementary School; MaryAnn Garbooshi, guidance counselor, Holman School; and Sgt. James Kube, N.J. National Guard, N.J. Counterdrug Task Force.
