PLAINSBORO: Two sworn in to seats on Township Committee

PLAINSBORO — Township Councilmen David Bander and Edmund Yates were sworn into office for three-year terms on the Township Committee at its reorganization meeting Tuesday night., Mr. Bander is serving his second term on Township Committee, and Mr. Yates is serving his seventh term., Also, Township Committee members Peter Cantu and Neil Lewis were chosen to serve as mayor and deputy mayor, respectively. The term is for one year., Mr. Cantu, who has served on Township Committee for 42 years, is serving his 37th term as mayor. Mr. Lewis has served on the governing body for 22 years, and is serving his 19th term as deputy mayor., In other business, Mayor Cantu was chosen to serve as the Township Committee’s liaison to Administration and Finance., Mr. Lewis is the liaison to Public Safety and the Environmental Advisory Committee., Mr. Yates is the liaison to the Planning Department, Code Enforcement and the Plainsboro Historical Society., Mr. Bander is the liaison to Public Works, the Council of Community Associations, Parks and Open Space, and the Cable Television Advisory Committee., And Councilman Nuran Nabi is the liaison to the Recreation and Community Department, Community Services and the Plainsboro Township Municipal Court.
