American Boychoir to perform in Freehold Borough

The American Boychoir, under the leadership of Fernando Malvar-Ruiz, will perform in concert at St. Peter’s Church, Freehold Borough, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 18. The performance is part of the Downtown Concert Series.

The Boychoir performs regularly with world class orchestras, including the New York Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra and the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and is often featured with conductors such as James Levine, Charles Dutoit and Alan Gilbert, according to a press release.

The American Boychoir has collaborated with classical artists such as Jessye Norman and Frederica von Stade, jazz legend Wynton Marsalis and pop icons Beyoncé and Paul McCartney.

Touring frequently at home and abroad as pre-eminent ambassadors, the American Boychoir spreads messages of beauty and hope through outstanding musical achievement, according to the press release.

“It is a special opportunity to hear one of the country’s most respected choirs in performance right here in Freehold,” said Mark Hyczko, artistic director of the concert series.

Boys in fourth through eighth grades reflecting the ethnic, religious and cultural diversity of the United States come from across the country and around the world to pursue a rigorous musical and academic curriculum at the American Boychoir School in Princeton, according to the press release.
