Monmouth Ski Club to meet Feb. 1

A skier makes his way along the boardwalk in Asbury Park during the first major snow storm of the year on January 23.

The Monmouth Ski Club is inviting prospective members to attend its next meeting at 8 p.m. on Feb. 1 at the The Wild Rover, 153 Shrewsbury Ave., Red Bank.

Monmouth Ski Club has been active for over 50 years. Staying at the lodge places club members within an hour of most of the major ski areas. Lodging costs are reasonable and include meals and linen service. Discount lift tickets are an added benefit.

As members of the New Jersey Ski Council (NJSC), the club is eligible to purchase substantially discounted vouchers for many ski areas. Another perk of NJSC membership is the chance to go on any number of trips.

The Monmouth Ski Club is also an all-season club. Off the slopes throughout the year, club members enjoy outdoor activities of kayaking, fishing, biking, hiking, golfing and indoor fun of quilting, reading groups and theme parties. Other fun activities include the annual race weekend, and club members are always at the NJ Ski Council Jamboree held every October in Whippany.

The Monmouth Ski Club meets at 8 p.m. on the first Wednesday of each month from October through April. For more information, call 732-938-4272 or visit monmouthskiclub.com.
