Residents seek support in fire district election

Typing Letter to the Editor for the Opinion page.

We are running for the Board of Fire Commissioners for Freehold Township Fire District No. 1, which is everything west of Route 9. The election is on Feb. 18 and we would welcome your support.

You will be able to vote two ways: you can go to the Freehold Township Independent Fire Company firehouse at 300 Stillwells Corner Road and vote on Feb. 18 or you can fill out an absentee ballot and send it in to receive a ballot in the mail.

Kevin LaGravenis has been a member of a volunteer fire company for 17 years. He had 25 years of service as a lieutenant in the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office. He was commander of the Gang Intelligence Unit and commander of the Aquatic Emergency Response Team. He previously worked as a deputy fire inspector in Manalapan.

Kevin holds the position of vice president of the Freehold Township Independent Fire Company. He also served as vice president in 2009, 2015 and 2016. He currently holds a position as vice president of a local food service provider with $20 million annual revenue and manages a staff of more than 80 employees. He created and manages a competitive bidding program for the company which created savings.

Michael Fogarty has been a volunteer firefighter for 25 years. He has served as a line officer and as a 1st Lt., 2nd Lt., captain and deputy chief. He has served as president, vice president and secretary of the Freehold Township Independent Fire Company.

Michael has 30-plus years of business experience as a senior manager in the financial and insurance industry. He managed from 25 to 150 employees in more than 11 countries. He managed OpEx budgets in excess of $17 million and drove cost reduction programs with annual OpEx savings ranging from $250,000 to $1.7 million.
