Urgent care opens in Wick Plaza

Immediate Care has opened its newest urgent care facility in Edison. The center, located in Wick Shopping Plaza at 561 U.S. Highway 1 south, was scheduled to open its doors on Jan. 27.

This is the company’s sixth urgent care center, adding to their other locations in Toms River, Hazlet, East Windsor, Red Bank and Lacey. The center will be open seven days a week, including most holidays, from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. -4 p.m. weekends.

Immediate Care’s vision is to make other ancillary services, such as physical therapy and acupuncture, as convenient and accessible as urgent care. Providing these services allows them to better accommodate their patients’ needs by offering them the convenience of returning to the same location for care.

Immediate Care Medical Walk-In of Edison is the first center to offer these services. They have collaborated in this location with Advanced Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Founded in 2011, the Advanced PMR family of offices has grown rapidly throughout the Central New Jersey area. Advanced PMR provides physical therapy, acupuncture and a variety of other rehabilitation services.

The center will be staffed by physicians and nurse practitioners. Dr. Asha Vijayakumar will serve as the center’s medical director.
