Police investigate suspicious activity in Sayreville

 

 

SAYREVILLE – Police are investigating suspicious activity of a possibly scam within the borough.

An incident was reported by a resident of Kenneth Avenue around 2:30 p.m. on Jan. 30. The resident told police a black male who he believed to be in his early 30s, wearing dark clothing, came to his door, identified himself as a JCP&L employee and requested he be allowed to enter the residence and check the fuse box in the basement, according to information provided by the Sayreville Police Department.

The resident declined his request and the man reportedly left the area in a white Mercedes SUV, according to reports.

Police responded to Kenneth Avenue, but the man had left the area. Neighboring police departments were advised of the incident.

Residents should be aware and report any such incident to the police.
