Englishtown Knights of Columbus mark 50 years of service

ENGLISHTOWN – The Englishtown Knights of Columbus recently marked 50 years of reaching out to the community and helping less fortunate individuals.

The members of Prince of Peace Council 5903 held an anniversary dinner to mark the occasion and to pay tribute to the faithful and charitable men who came before them. Great food, great music, great people and great memories highlighted the night, according to a press release.

Grand Knight Guy Girgenti led the ceremonies and financial secretary Lance Andrew, Past Grand Knight, recounted the history of Council 5903.

Past Grand Knights going back to the 1970s were in attendance, including founding members Vincent Buonocore and John Byrne, both of whom hold the title of Past Grand Knight.

The council’s chaplain, Monsignor Peter Kochery, as well as the Rev. John Large of St. Thomas More, assistant chaplain, Deacon Keith Casey, Past Grand Knight, and Deacon Matthew Nicosia also helped the members celebrate the occasion, according to the press release.
