The South River Police Department invites all community members to attend the department’s first “Coffee with a Cop” event at 9 a.m. on Feb. 15 at Campozino Bakery, 16 Ferry St., South River.
Officers from the department will come together with community members in a neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships and drink coffee in a relaxed, informal environment.
“Coffee with a Cop” is a national initiative supported by the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are held across the country as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve.
