Applications available for Citizens Police Academy

The South Brunswick Police Department is accepting applications for the Spring 2017 Citizens Police Academy.

The academy will offer training on a range of law enforcement topics including motor vehicle laws, criminal law and use of force. In addition, citizens will learn about crime scene processing, defensive tactic and internal affairs.

The academy will culminate with a day of practical exercises where students will handle simulated motor vehicle stops, disputes and other realistic scenarios.

The academy will begin on March 7. Classes will be held from 6:30-9:30 p.m. every Tuesday for 11 weeks in the training center at police headquarters, 540 Ridge Road, Monmouth Junction section of South Brunswick. There will be a one-week break during Spring Break.
