ASBURY PARK — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties (BBBSMMC) is holding its 35th annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser at various Monmouth County bowling centers in March to raise funds to sustain and expand its 1-to-1 mentoring programs for children.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is BBBSMMC’s premier community fundraising event. Individuals as well as school, community and corporate teams come together to spend time raising funds and bowling with the focus on fun, friendship, camaraderie and, most importantly, the children in need of a positive role model.

All Bowl for Kids’ Sake expenses are underwritten by corporate sponsors with 100 percent of raised funds going directly toward matching children with a mentor.

“You don’t need to be a great bowler; you just need to care about kids and their future,” said William Salcedo, BBBSMMC’s executive director. “The Big Brothers Big Sisters program puts a caring mentor in the life of a child who needs a friend to guide them on a path to success. Bowl for Kids’ Sake raises awareness of our need for mentors as well as funds that help us reach more children.”

The agency is seeking teams to participate and help support the BBBSMMC program. Those wishing to bowl in teams of five or six are each asked to raise a minimum of $100 per person, and students are asked to raise $50 through pledges from friends, family and co-workers. Participants will enjoy bowling, food and giveaways in celebration of their fundraising efforts.
