LONG BRANCH – A man wanted on attempted murder and robbery charges surrendered to police after being found in a Long Branch home.

According to a press release from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Denismar Andrade, 26, was wanted by authorities after allegedly stabbing two Long Branch residents in their necks during an alleged robbery on the morning of Feb. 18.

The Long Branch residents were treated, released from hospital care and are expected to survive, according to the press release.

On Feb. 22, an investigation led detectives to a home in Long Branch where Andrade was attempting to evade law enforcement by concealing himself in a wall, according to the press release. The Monmouth County Emergency Response Team was deployed to the home and found Andrade hiding in the basement with a stash of food and water. Once Andrade was located, he was apprehended without incident that afternoon.

According to the press release, detectives have no reason to believe that Andrade acted in concert with anyone, and there is no further danger to the public.
