Infant among three hospitalized after crash in North Brunswick

NORTH BRUNSWICK – Three people remain hospitalized after a motor vehicle crash on Carolier Lane in North Brunswick.

A North Brunswick patrol unit came across a serious accident that had just occurred around 2:55 p.m. on Feb. 28, according to information provided by the North Brunswick Police Department (NBPD).

An unoccupied school bus and a Subaru passenger car had come into contact with each other, police said. Investigators from the North Brunswick Police Traffic Safety Bureau are investigating the incident to determine exactly what happened, but an initial causation is that one of those vehicles had to enter the intersection improperly in order to come into contact, according to the statement.

The bus was solely occupied by the driver, and the Subaru had three occupants including an infant. The occupants of the Subaru were transported to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick as traumatic injuries. The driver of the bus was also transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The three passengers from the Subaru remain at the hospital as of press time, according to reports, with two remaining in serious but stable condition.

The highway was closed for approximately two hours for the investigation.
