Two men charged with varying drug offenses after stop in East Brunswick

EAST BRUNSWICK – Two men have been charged with possession of drugs with intent to distribute.

Ptl. Patrick Lem was patrolling the parking lot of Studio 6 on Route 18 around 8:15 p.m. on March 1 when he approached a vehicle occupied by two males, according to information provided by the East Brunswick Police Department.

The front-seat passenger, Joseph Pauciello, 31, of Keansburg, was allegedly found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Additionally, on the front passenger side floor was reportedly a bag of hypodermic syringes and several loose wax folds containing suspected heroin, according to police.

When the driver, Joseph Yannibelli, 39, of Atlantic Highlands, was reportedly asked to exit the vehicle, 10 wax folds of suspected heroin fell from his lap onto the ground as he exited, police said. A search of the vehicle allegedly yielded an additional 83 wax folds of suspected heroin and a crack pipe.

Yannibelli and Pauciello were both charged with possession of heroin, possession with intent to distribute, possession of hypodermic syringes and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Pauciello, who originally provided a false name to Lem, was also charged with possession of cocaine and hindering, according to police.
