The American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay for Life of East Brunswick will hold its free kickoff event 7 p.m. March 21 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, 335 Route 18, East Brunswick. There will be food and prizes. All are invited to learn how to help the ACS save more lives from cancer.
The program will outline the Relay for Life and highlight how the community has benefited from funds raised in the past. Guests will have the opportunity to register a team for the event, which will be held on June 10 at Heavenly Farms, East Brunswick.
The Relay for Life movement unites communities across the globe to celebrate people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and take action to finish the fight. The events are community gatherings where teams and individuals camp out at a school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Teams participate in fundraising in the months leading up to the event. Last year more than 200 people took part in the East Brunswick Relay and raised almost $60,000.
