Morgan led the Lancers to a state championship in 2014, the program’s first New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) title since 1981.

St. John Vianney defeated Gloucester Catholic High School in the Non-Public, A South finals. A 3-1 victory over Saint Joseph Regional High School of Montvale secured the Non-Public A championship. The Lancers went 20-7 overall and won the Shore Conference A Central Division title that season.

Morgan is entering his 11th season as head coach at St. John Vianney.

Fitzgerald, a member of St. John Vianney’s Class of 1978, was a star player on the baseball team.

The 1988 girls’ tennis team won an NJSIAA Non-Public A group championship. The Lady Lancers also finished runner-up to Millburn High School in the Tournament of Champions.

The Lancers’ annual Hall of Fame and Hall of Honor Awards Dinner was held March 4 at Piazza di Roma restaurant in Aberdeen.

The St. John Vianney Athletic Hall of Fame was established in 1994 and recognizes the achievements of Lancers alumni and coaches who excelled in their chosen events, according to the school. The Hall of Fame also recognizes alumni for achievements following their high school careers.
