Volunteers needed for Earth Day event at Fair Haven Fields

The Fair Haven Natural Area Committee and the Fair Haven Shade Tree Commission will be sponsoring an Earth Day cleanup and planting event at a local community garden.

Members of the public are invited to lend a hand at Fair Haven Fields Natural Area at Ridge Road. Volunteers will meet at the community gardens at 9 a.m. on April 22 (Earth Day) to pair off into teams with assignments.

Small teams of volunteers will be deployed on projects ranging from trail cleanup to new plantings and much more. All ages are welcomed from Fair Haven and neighboring communities, including Little Silver, Rumson and Red Bank.

Bring gloves, garden (hard) rakes, leaf rakes and spade shovels if possible. The event will run rain or shine.
