CPA society to dole out scholarships on April 25

The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) will award $410,000 in scholarships to more than 80 students in New Jersey during the 57th annual Scholarship Award Ceremony, which will be held at 7:30 p.m. on April 25 at the Pines Manor in Edison.

The event provides an opportunity for scholarship recipients to meet practicing CPAs and representatives from many of the state’s leading accounting firms.

The NJCPA Scholarship Fund recognizes students with a major or concentration in accounting. The awards are granted to high school seniors set to enroll in such a program in the upcoming semester, New Jersey college juniors majoring in accounting who are entering their senior year and seniors who are entering an accounting-related graduate program.

The fund will distribute 15 four-year $7,000 awards and 38 one-year $6,000 awards this year, in addition to chapter and minority awards.

The NJCPA will begin accepting applications for its 2018 scholarship program in the fall. For more information, contact Theresa Hinton at 973-226-4494, ext. 212 or thinton@njcpa.org, or visit njcpa.org/scholarships.
