Just after 3 p.m. March 28, a male student was struck by a vehicle on Elton-Adelphia Road in front of the high school, Freehold Township Police Lt. Scot Hall said on March 29.

Hall said the student who was struck is an 18-year-old resident of Manalapan.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the teenager is a staff member at the high school. Hall said the driver is a 48-year-old female resident of Marlboro.

The names of the student and the driver were not released by Hall.

In the aftermath of the incident, the injured student was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, Hall said. He said the young man is expected to make a full recovery.

As of March 29, no charges had been filed against the student who was injured or the driver of the vehicle that struck the teenager, Hall said. The investigation is ongoing.

Hall said other drivers at the scene of the incident in front of the high school were issued traffic summonses for violating a no stopping and no standing regulation.
