‘New Jersey and the Great War’ lectures set for April 9

The Middlesex County Office of Culture and Heritage will present the latest installment of its event series honoring the centennial of the United States entering World War I with two sessions of the lecture “New Jersey and the Great War” at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on April 9 at the Indian Queen Tavern in East Jersey Old Town Village, 1050 River Rd. in Piscataway.

Joe Bilby, assistant curator of the New Jersey National Guard and Militia Museum in Sea Girt, will give an overview of the events leading up to the war, the war in Europe and the impact of the conflict on New Jersey and local communities.

This program is offered free of charge, but registration is required for either session. To register or for directions, call 732-745-3030, ext. 310 or email culturalandheritage@co.middlesex.nj.us.
