Worship center to present Easter drama

MARLBORO – Monmouth Worship Center, 37 Vanderburg Road, will present its annual Easter drama, “One Degree of Glory.”

The drama tells the story of the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Performances will be held on April 8, April 14 and April 15 at 7 p.m. and April 9 at 3 p.m., according to a press release.

“This drama has the potential to change your life,” said director Becky Peterson of Marlboro. “This is the true story of Jesus and his impact on the world and on our lives.”

While the story of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus remains the same, this year there are some new elements to the drama, according to the press release.

“The story is told through the eyes of Danny, a young man in the U.S. armed services,” Peterson said. “It is the Gospel story told in a fresh, creative way. We want to honor our veterans while showing how Jesus can change peoples’ lives for the better. Danny’s faith is tested through trials and he comes to know that Jesus is always with him.”

Joe Maranzani of Keansburg plays the role of Jesus.

“People should see this drama, especially if you are not familiar with the whole story of Jesus’ resurrection,” Maranzani said.

Ken Jasko of Manalapan, the senior and founding pastor of Monmouth Worship Center, said he hopes people will come and bring their friends and relatives who do not know Jesus.

Admission is free and a nursery will be provided by reservation for children 5 and under. For more information call 732-332-9600.
