Parents invited to pair of events

MARLBORO – SCOPE, which is Marlboro’s district-wide special education PTO, will host events that are free and open to the public.​​

​The SCOPE of Marlboro Parent Education Series will take place at 9:30 a.m. May 3 at the Marlboro ​Recreation​​ Community Center​, Wyncrest Road, according to a press release.

Guest speaker Michael Ginsberg will present “Understanding the Tools Your Child Needs to Make Learning Easier.” The presentation will focus on why one child can finish a task in five minutes and another child will take 30 minutes.

There will be a discussion of the seven tools a child needs to develop in order to read, reason, remember, comprehend and pay attention in order to make learning easier and the simple test parents can take to learn the strengths and weaknesses their child carries to school every day, according to the press release.

On June 7 at 9:30 a.m. at the Marlboro Recreation Community Center, SCOPE will host attorney Greer Gurland, who will present a talk about “How To Advocate Successfully For Your Child: What Every Parent Should Know About Special Education Law.”
