On Aug. 16, Keith was walking through the Public Works garage when he observed a private contractor installing radio equipment in a police vehicle who was lying unresponsive in the seat, according to information provided by the PWANJ. Keith pulled the contractor out of the vehicle and began administering CPR until first responders arrived and shocked the man with a defibrillator. The man regained consciousness and was transported to the hospital.

Keith has been a member of the South Brunswick Department of Public Works Utilities Authority since 2007. He is also a former member of the Monmouth Junction Volunteer First Aid Squad.

He received the award during the Public Works Conference in Atlantic City on March 29.
