Residents who would like to learn how to grow fresh produce at home, but are not sure if there is enough room for planting are invited to join the Master Gardeners of Middlesex County for the upcoming workshop “Successful Gardens in Small Spaces” that will be held from 10 a.m.-noon April 22 at the EARTH Center, located in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Ave., South Brunswick.

The free workshop will explore square-foot gardening, a type of gardening that concentrates on a small, clearly defined area and incorporates the use of compost.

Container gardening will also be discussed. This technique can often give urban gardeners a way to safely and productively grow their favorite crops.

To register, call 732-398-5262 or email Carol.richiusa@co.middlesex.nj.us by April 19.
